If the problem is limited to one area, such as a leak around a vent or a few shingles lost in a storm, a [repair](/services/roof-repair/) usually makes sense. When the shingles are worn across the whole roof, leaks keep coming back or the decking has gone soft, [replacement](/services/roof-replacement/) is often the better use of your money. We'll look at the roof and tell you plainly which one we recommend and why. Do you handle storm damage and insurance claims? Yes. We repair storm damage, and we can inspect the roof, document what we find and work with your insurance company on the claim. Our customers also get free priority storm inspections for life, so after a big wind or hail storm you're near the front of the line. How long does a typical asphalt shingle roof last here? Most asphalt shingle roofs last somewhere around 20 to 30 years, depending on the shingle, the attic ventilation and how much weather they take. Around Cincinnati, winter freeze-thaw cycles, summer heat and spring hail all add wear. If your roof is getting close to that range, or you're seeing curled or missing shingles, a check-up inspection will tell you how much life it has left. What roof inspections do you offer? We offer four [inspections](/services/roof-inspection/). The Roof Check-Up Inspection is free and shows you the current condition of your roof. Every roof we install gets a 19-Point Final Inspection before payment, and about a year later the owner comes out for a free Happy Birthday Inspection. Our customers also get free Priority Storm Inspections for life. What's involved in a roof replacement? We go over the shingle options for your house during the estimate. On the job, we tear off the old roof and replace damaged decking, vents, drip edge and gutter aprons as needed. We protect your landscaping while we work and clean up the yard when we're done. Before you pay, we go through the 19-point final inspection. Do you work on gutters and skylights? Yes. We handle [gutters](/services/gutters/) and [skylights](/services/skylights/), and many homeowners have them done at the same time as a new roof. Replacing everything at once lets the flashing, drip edge and shingles tie in together. ## Area Which towns do you serve?
